July–AugustTeej Festival
Women's Festival β€” Monsoon Celebration

Teej Festival

Dedicated to Goddess Parvati and her reunion with Shiva, Teej marks the monsoon's arrival. Married women observe a strict waterless fast (Nirjala Vrat) praying for their husbands' longevity. Pushkar's celebration is more intimate and devotional than the grand Jaipur procession β€” women dress in green and red, adorn intricate mehndi on hands and feet, sing folk songs on flower-decked swings, and receive the traditional Sindhara gift hamper from their parents. The atmosphere around the Brahma Temple and ghats becomes deeply spiritual during this time.

October–NovemberDiwali in Pushkar
Festival of Lights β€” Deep Daan

Diwali at Pushkar Lake

Diwali transforms Pushkar into a vision of light on water. Thousands of earthen diyas (oil lamps) are floated on Pushkar Lake during the Deep Daan ceremony β€” a tradition where devotees release lighted lamps as offerings, creating a shimmering reflection of the town against the dark Aravalli hills. The Brahma Temple and every ghat are illuminated with oil lamps and marigold garlands. Temple bells echo across the lake as families perform Laxmi Puja on the ghat steps. The sight of the white-walled town glowing in warm golden light, doubled by its reflection on the sacred water, is unforgettable.
